Our Company’s
Story.....it started because of a
little boy
A toddler, 2 ˝ years old. Diagnosed
with an eye problem and the recommended treatment wasn’t covered by
insurance. Weekly treatments cost $45....and with holidays around the
corner, the parents could afford treatments or presents, not both.
The child’s mother, Kim Jones,
trained as a PT but presently a stay-at-home mom, knew that when she
worked as a department director, there was a need for local temporary
staffing help. She placed a few phone calls to local out-patient clinics
inquiring if they ever needed an extra hand with patient care. The
following week Kim was treating patients in a clinic. She went from
homemaker to corporate president in 3 days.
6 weeks later with more requests than she alone could handle, Kim and
her husband Mike decided to see if other
professionals would be interested in per diem work. 4 months later, 6
PTs were working for P.T. Abilities, the
company’s original name. The name combined Kim’s profession along with
our first motto, “to say yes to the
possibilities”.
Our original PTs created a reputation for delivering excellent patient
care, something we still enjoy today. OTs , SLPs and RCPs soon joined us
so we changed our name to accurately reflect all the professions we
serve.
Through the years RehabAbilities has created several
firsts in California:

the first
registry to offer a toll-free 800 number

the first
registry to actively promote the per diem staffing of Therapy
Assistants
-
the first
rehabilitation registry certified by The Joint Commission
Since 1987 our Team Members have
positively impacted the lives of hundreds of thousands of patients.
Their
dedication to professional excellence is the hallmark of our success!
Today Kim & Mike still own and actively manage the business, continuing
to “say yes to the possibilities”. In
2009 mKmResources was created to offer the
same kind of excellent experience to Therapy personnel across the
United States. The organization, now known as “The RehabAbilities Family
of Companies”, also includes
staffing for Social Workers and travel staffing.
